Certified Pre-Owned Cars
What is certified pre-owned (CPO) and what are the advantages of buying a certified pre-owned car or truck? A certified pre-owned or certified used car is a recent model used vehicle that has passed a multi-point condition and safety inspection as specified by the certifying automaker. As a result of the additional inspection and reconditioning requirements, most CPO vehicles include a certified used car warranty in addition to the remainder of the original manufacturer warranty. Because certified vehicles are more likely to be in a like-new condition and sold by a certified pre-owned dealership, they may cost a few hundred dollars more than similar, non-certified used vehicles. However, manufacturers frequently offer special financing deals on certified used cars. Additionally, some banks offer rates that are competitive with new car financing.
